２０１４年２月制作の四コマ漫画。
１４８６年、アステカ帝国第８代皇帝アウィツォトル、即位一年目。戦の天才で、恐ろしい怪物の名でよばれる皇帝陛下が、雨の日に、本物の「水の怪物アウィツォトル」をひろう。しかし、小さな怪物は、皇帝陛下にはさっぱりなつかず、老齢の副王にべったりとなついてしまうのだった…。

基本は、ほのぼのコメディ。しかし、途中で歴史要素が入って、ヘビーな展開になってます。
物語はもちろんフィクションですが、登場する英雄たちの史実につきましては、「アステカの君主」記事をご覧ください。

【第８代皇帝アウィツォトル陛下について】
帝国の黄金時代を築いた皇帝。戦の天才で、ガンガン遠征し、帝国の領土を倍にした傑物皇帝。しかし、敵に情け容赦なく、即位翌年の１４８７年の大神殿完成時に２万人の生け贄（心臓をひとつひとつ取り出すので、さすがに誇張だろう…。ちなみに、スペインによる征服後の『クアウティトラン年代記』だと８万を超えます）をして周辺部族を恐怖のズンドコに叩き込んだ、おっかない皇帝。洪水のさいに、逃げようとして頭をうって、それが元で死んだという、家康の天ぷら級の逸話が残る。最後の君主クワウテモクの父上。

【副王トラカレルについて】
アステカの歴代皇帝につかえた名宰相。死亡の年代は、１４７８年、１４８０年、１４８７年などとまちまちで、ここでは１４８７年として描いています。１００歳まで生きたという話もあるらしいですが…。
アステカが栄光への道をのぼりはじめた１４２８年のアスカポツァルコ戦の立役者。戦士として数多くの武勲があり、また、アステカ帝国ナンバー２である副王（シワコアトル）として歴代皇帝と二人三脚で帝国を発展させていく大英雄。
約翰さま情報によるトラカエレルの最期では、ドゥランやアコスタによると、病に臥せたトラカエレルは「息子たちを頼む」と皇帝に言い、皇帝はトラカエレルが生きているうちに彼の息子を副王にして、トラカエレルは満足して逝った、のだそうです（ドゥラン本だと皇帝はアウィツォトル。アコスタ本だとドゥランのと話の筋はほぼ同じで、王はアウィツォトルではなくアシャヤカトル。ただし、ティソック→アシャヤカトル→アウィツォトルという即位順で、とのことです）。

トラカエレルの死後は、息子のトリルポトンキ（勇猛な戦士だったらしい）が、副王に。

アウィツォトルには、トラカエレル＝ショコヨトルという名前の息子がいたそうで、彼を尊敬していた…かもしれません（もっとも、他にもたくさん息子や娘がいて、いくつかは既存の名前とかぶっていますが）。

余談ですが、山場の１４８７年の大神殿完成は１２月１９日のようだと後になって知りまして（英語版ウィキのTemplo Mayorの項目に日付がのってた）、年内に副王が死去するためには１０日くらいしかないということに気が付きました…。副王、ものすごいピンピンコロリをしないと無理だ…。副王死去の日付は調べきれていませんが、史実では大神殿完成をみた可能性はどうやらなさそうです。
ただ、英語が苦手なのできちんと読めてはいませんが、グーグルブックスで一部だけネットで見られたドゥランの本（The History of the Indies of New Spain : Diego Durán）では、１４８７年、副王トラカエレルは、大神殿の工事を完成させるアウィツォトル陛下の計画を聞き、泣いて感謝し、生きている間に見たいと言い、大神殿が完成すると副王も儀式に参加。その後も死なず、テワンテペクへの遠征（１４９７年ごろ）を経てから死亡なので、１００歳くらいまで生きてたみたいです…。うちの陛下と副王より仲がよさそうだった…。
もっとも、それとは逆に、アウィツォトルとトラカエレルが、不仲の作品もあるようで…。
私の漫画を海外お絵かきSNSのdeviantARTに載せたさい、メキシコ人２人から、「トラカエレルを殺したのはアウィツォトルだ。晩年トラカエレルは生贄をやめることを決心し、戦争と生贄路線のアウィツォトルに殺された」と言われて、そのように描かないのか、とツッコミ来たんですが…。こちらは、後になって、トラカエレルが主人公の小説（『レヒーナ』書いてるアントニオ・ベラスコ・ピーニャの『トラカエレル』）が出典とわかりまして…。話の出典が「小説」だという事を、伏せた状態で教えてくれるのは勘弁してほしいですが、それがガチで史実なのだと思って教えてくれた次第のようです。

今日から皇帝陛下。
「副王トラカエレル、わがアステカ帝国の生ける伝説、ガキの頃から崇拝してきた英雄、口うるさいジイさんが、この日、俺を陛下と呼んだ」

In 1486, the 8th Aztec emperor Ahuizotl, the reign first year. The emperor who was named after a fearful creature "ahuizotl", one day, he picked up a "real" ahuizotl.
But the little ahuizotl came to like the old cihuacoatl (the adviser to the ruler), ...not the emperor.

This story is fiction.

1.The mercy ......"Tlatoani (Aztec emperor) !" " What? Cihuacoatl (the adviser to the ruler)!" "Since you became the Aztec emperor several months ago, you won every battle. You are merciless against enemies. It is wonderful. But you sometimes should show mercy for getting the people's worship." "I see." "In rain, I picked up an abandoned dog(?)." "I did not say that you should do such a thing."

2.The little ahuizotl......"This is not a dog...! This is an ahuizotl!!" "I will keep the ahuizotl." "The ahuizotl, a ferocious creature. It make human drown by tail's hand, and eat human flesh, eyes, nails, teeth....." "Throw it back where you found it!" "I will take care of the little ahuizotl. I will work harder at war. " "It is natural that Aztec emperor works harder at war!!"

3.Fierce animal attention....... "It is too dangerous to keep the ahuizotl!" "I will train the ahuizotl." "Don't defy me! I will teach you a lesson!" "No! Tlatoani! Show mercy! Show mercy!"

4.The defeat of cihuacoatl........." Tlatoani! I will release the ahuizotl to Lake Texcoco!" "You are out of danger. Don't worry." "(As Cihuacoatl said, it may be too dangerous to keep the ahuizotl...)" "I am sorry, Tlatoani, the little ahuizotl seems to love me...." "Hey!"

5.Training the ahuizotl......."Sit down!" "Hand!" "Circle, three times, and bark!" "Cihuacoatl....You have trained such a dangerous creature well." "It is easier than training you." "Shut up!"

6.The living legend....... "Cihuacoatl Tlacaelel, near 90 years old, the Aztec great hero. He supports the successive emperors as cihuacoatl(the adviser)." "Awesome!! He tamed the dangerous ahuizotl!" "His brave deed of the war against Azcapotzalco of 60 years ago is the legend!" "Yes, he is our living legend!!" "Soon, he will tame the human-shape-ahuizotl too." "Don't say it! If Tlatoani hears it, he will kill you!" " (I hear.)"

7.Little Prince Ahuizotl....."I am reminded of your childhood when I see the little ahuizotl." "My childhood?" "Cihuacoatl!" "Oh! Little Prince Ahuizotl!" "Cihuacoatl! I will become an emperor when I grow up. Live long and be my cihuacoatl." "Certainly." "Cihuacoatl! Cihuacoatl! I want to listen to your story of war!"

8.Little Prince Ahuizotl....."My grandchild....! My brother Tlacaelel is my irreplaceable cihuacoatl. Never say rude things." "I will live long and I will not abdicate the throne!! You little mischievous ahuizotl! Come here! I will teach you a lesson today!" "Tlatoani, please forgive him, I will teach him courtesy." "No! I have never done such a thing!"

"But it is true that I worshiped him as a hero when I was small." 　"Prince Ahuizotl. The Aztec emperor have to be good at war."　"We Aztec have to do human sacrifice to prevent the sun's death. It is our mission.　By war, we get prisoners of war for human sacrifice.”　"Strong warriors who have much pride accept their own fate and die for gods when they are defeated.　For fighting against strong warriors, you have to be strong, Prince Ahuizotl..."

10.General Ahuizotl
"5 years ago, when I was in my mid-twenties, I got the first chance to become an emperor. But Cihuacoatl chose my older brother Tozoc as an emperor."　"Cihuacoatl! I am better at war than my older brother. Please choose me as an emperor!"　"My younger brother...."　"Prince Tizoc is thoughtful and popular, and he has experience and knowledge more than you. Go away, young whippersnapper!"　"(You old codger! That's not what you said before!!)"

11.The assassination of the emperor....... "But my brother Tizoc was not really good at war." "After his enthronement, he failed in the first war. We had a series of misfortunes since then." "Revolts happened, and we had to repress them." "From his enthronement, 5 years passed. At last, Cihuacoatl said that we had to poison him."

12.The assassination of the emperor ......."5 years ago, I said that you should choose me as an emperor. My brother is too soft to be an emperor. I don't know what you thought about me. But you should have chosen me. And you should have supported me as a cihuacoatl." "It seems like my judgment was mistaken..... I am sorry....sorry...." "And I became an emperor, he became my cihuacoatl. But now, I do not need his support."

13.Tlatoani Ahuizotl......."Cihuacoatl, you have tamed the little ahuizotl completely." "Haha... He is cute." "The enlargement construction of the great temple will soon be over."
